This guy built a modern-day Noahs Ark to save mankinds future just in case
A doomsday-obsessed Canadian is plotting to build a new society after inviting people to take shelter in his massive 50 room underground complex he’s made from old school buses.
Bruce Beach, 84, is expecting a nuclear war to break out any moment — but believes once people emerge from his 10,0000 square-foot modern-day Noah’s Ark, they will forge a new civilization.
Speaking to the BBC, Beach said: “Rather than seeing these catastrophes that are going to happen as being the end of the world, we see it as the beginning of a new age.”
“After that event, hopefully, humanity will establish world peace and humanity will go forward from this point.”
On his website, Beach insists he’s “not a doomsayer because I am very optimistic about the future.”
In fact he said he began building his shelter in 1980 to help the reconstruction of society after the nuclear war.
Appropriately called Ark Two, it can house at least 500 people and these people will forge a new future for mankind.
Remarkable pictures taken during its construction show rows of old yellow buses next to each other.
The buried buses are covered in concrete and several feet of earth heaped over it.
Each of the rooms inside the bunker are linked by doors cut out of their chassis.
But according to his map, children will be prioritized with girls getting most of the room.
It has a gym, doctors, dentist, nursery and a library. There is even a morgue.
Fresh water is pumped from a stainless steel tank which contains water from a nearby well.
An exercise bike has been converted into a pedal-powered grinding mill for wheat.
It’s hoped citizens could stay for at least three weeks or more as they wait for the fall-out to drop to non-lethal levels.
Beach said: “I expect it will serve people in the local community because I don’t think people will have the opportunity to travel great distances to get here.”
Officials in nearby Shelburn have threatened to permanently seal the Ark, but Beach is determined to keep it going – although he says he’s annoyed about being forced to throw out tons of food over the years.
