Tom Ford Spring Fall Recap
I will never stop associating The Pointer Sisters with Saved by the Bell. Call me a millennial! I can't help but have the image of a crazed Jessie Spano running around her room in a caffeine pill-induced nightmare wearing spandex insisting how "excited," yet, "so...so...scared" she was. Tonight, at Tom Ford's Fall 2018 show, I, along with the other 30-somethings in the fashion set, were given a new memory to associate with the song thanks to a brightly colored, 80's-inspired disco-ish show.
The clothes were as loud as the music and the designer walked the runway wearing sunglasses. Here are some other things you need to know about the Tom Ford runway show.
Street Style Stars: Start Saving For These Coats
Sequined puffers, bright orange leopard print oversized bombers, ladylike faux furs with crystal buttons...the coats at Tom Ford's Fall 2018 show came thundering down the runway. I definitely foresee these big jackets on the tiny bodies of bloggers next season.
Animal Instincts
Green. Orange. Lavender. Red. These are all shades of leopard print that walked the runway in various forms: from a baby doll dress with matching tights to a full patterned pantsuit. Wearing this full look will take guts, but if individually worn could be wardrobe statement staples.
Heads Up
It's no secret: I love a hair accessory. And I was lucky that the first day of fashion month started with a great one. Models walked the runway in wide headbands, some appeared to be simple, black satin (or leather), but the memorable ones: a wide band that looked almost like chainmail. And I want it now.
Kaia Is In The Building
Kaia's undoubtedly exhausting month has begun. How many shows will she walk? How many looks will she wear? And what do we think of her first NYFW show of the season?
